Why I’m Running
I am asking for your support as I seek a second three-year term on the Holliston School Committee.
Over the past three years, serving on the School Committee has been both an honor and a responsibility I take seriously. I began this role with a strong desire to serve our district, and I quickly developed a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing our schools. I am proud of the meaningful progress we have made together.
During my term, I have kept students at the center of every decision, with a strong focus on inclusion and equity. I have advocated for meaningful support for our educators and worked to ensure all families feel heard and represented.
This work continues. As our schools face important decisions ahead, I believe my experience, perspective, and commitment position me to help move our district forward.
The Holliston Public School District is at a critical juncture. In the coming months, the School Committee will need to focus on several key priorities:
Leadership Transition: Our central office leadership team is undergoing significant change. We are welcoming a new Superintendent, a new Director of Teaching and Learning, a returning Assistant Superintendent of Student Services, and a new Miller School Principal. If elected, one of my top priorities will be to work closely with the administration to ensure a smooth and successful transition.
New Three-Year Teacher Contract: The district will soon enter negotiations with the teachers’ union for a new three-year contract. It will be essential to reach a fair and equitable agreement that supports our educators while meeting the needs of the district.
Holliston High School MSBA Project: After many years of effort, Holliston High School has been accepted into the MSBA building process. The eligibility period begins on June 1, 2026, and we will be at the start of an exciting opportunity to plan for a new or renovated high school.
I am passionate about ensuring every student has access to a high-quality education, that every family’s voice matters, and that our teachers and staff are supported in the vital work they do each day. I am ready to build on what we’ve accomplished and continue working collaboratively to strengthen our schools.
I would be grateful for your vote and the opportunity to continue serving our community.
Thank you for your consideration, Sarah
